Idylls French Bulldogs
At Idylls, we first became involved with Great Danes while in our Silver Spring home in 1986. It was but a short time later in 1989 that we moved to our current location in Highland, Maryland and happily settled down to raise our two children and Great Danes. I had the good fortune to be mentored early in the breed by Harry and Lisa Miller of Kiarry Kennels. I treasure their friendship and owe them a great debt for the knowledge and expertise they generously shared with me. With their help, I had the good fortune to produce some beautiful Great Danes.
With our children grown, we eventually decided to down size and I acquired my first French Bulldog in 2006. He finished his championship quickly but was never bred due to health concerns. My second Frenchie, a beautiful cream bitch, came from Patty and Luis Sosa's Bandog lines and it was then that my love affair with the breed began in earnest. Jilly, CH Bandog's Heart of a Lion, went on to become a multiple group winning bitch, an AOM winner at the Eukanuba Long Beach show in 2009 snd subsequently qualified to attend Crufts in 2011 and 2012.
Our first French Bulldog litter was from a beautiful De la Parure and Bandog outcross bitch generously given to me by Barbara McCarthy of Banyan Kennels. This wonderful girl was blessed with lovely lines, a beautiful pedigree, and wonderful temperament. She was bred to Eazy from Revaz Khomasuridze's A'Vigdor Kennels. Eazy earned his Grand Championship title at the tender age of 14 months. Patty Sosa and Barbara McCarthy jointly visited Revaz and arranged to have several dogs imported to be utilized by Bandog, Banyan, Idylls, and Texas Star pedigrees. Fortunately, two of these males have proven to be outstanding dogs, producing healthy puppies with beautiful bone and type in combination with sound temperaments, the dream of every breeder.
Idylls French Bulldogs does not breed often and takes great care to select those dogs and bitches that not only conform to the French Bulldog standard but will also produce beautiful, healthy, and sound puppies. Banyan and Idylls have co-bred and co-owned several dogs that have gone on to perform well in the conformation ring. Our common love and unswerving dedication for our French Bulldogs have forged a strong friendship dedicated to excellence in the breed. And finally, I would like to express my gratitude to Donna Stoffer for her invaluable advice and expertise. I am blessed to count her among my friends
I hope you enjoy your visit to this website as you learn more about the wonderful French Bulldogs that grace our home.
